A.E. Bayne is a teacher, writer, and artist living in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She has been teaching English for sixteen years.

Bayne holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in creative writing from Virginia Tech and a Masters of Education from the University of Mary Washington. She is a consultant for George Mason University’s Northern Virginia Writing Project.

Between 2006 and 2012, Bayne was a liaison between Stafford County Public Schools and the Free Lance-Star’s Newspapers in Education program where she presented workshops, developed lessons, and aligned curriculum with Virginia’s Standards of Learning for the serial stories that ran in the newspaper.  She is the literary and art magazine facilitator for her current school in Prince William County.

In addition to writing The Write Stuff – Virginia for educators, Bayne has been a monthly columnist for Front Porch Magazine for seven years and has written for Fredericksburg Parent Magazine and Hampton Health Journal.  She publishes and writes for the bi-annual magazine, Fredericksburg Literary and Art Review.

Bayne is an organizing partner of the Fredericksburg Independent Book Festival, a yearly regional festival showcasing some of the regions most exciting new writers and book artists.

Bayne was a collaborating artist and photographer for two exhibits, Plastic Fantastic in 2013 and The Contemporary Henna Designs of Shirley Donahue in 2014.  She has participated in a variety of local art shows in Fredericksburg, including The Art of Poetry,  Art Attack 2015, Verses to Visions 2015, Art Attack 2016 and PONSHOP’s Vinyl Remix3 in 2015 and Vinyl Remix4 in 2016.
